New Version of Axiom Application Software Available
01/06/12
The latest version of the software that powers the Axiom datalogger has been released. The some significant changes include:
- support for upcoming FTS hardware products (AirTalk, our new CS2 GOES transmitter)
- an easy interface for configuring the SDI RMYoung Wind Monitor and Tavis stage sensors
- significant enhancements to the SDI command setup and stage offset tool
- Support for SHEF format

Today FTS officially launched our new SDI-12 submersible temperature sensor. DigiTemp is a simple but effective digital temperature sensor for use in water or soil, and it's use of SDI-12 interface makes it unique in the marketplace. The sensor has been tested and approved by the USGS Hydrological Instrumentation Facility (HIF), which was also involved in the design of the product.
What Is It?
- The FTS DigiTemp submersible temperature sensor is a unique rugged digital temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of water, soil or other liquids with scientific-grade accuracy.
- It makes adding automatic temperature monitoring to new or existing stations incredibly easy and cost-effective.
- It’s compatible with any SDI-12-compliant datalogger.
- No complex wiring to set up.
- No need to program coeffecients.
- Just plug it in. Set it and forget.
- Reduced need for training.
- Time savings during installation.
- Increased reliability of data—elimination of installation errors.
DigiTemp is the only digital temperature sensor for water or soil on the market. It is exceptionally rugged so also delivers low total cost of ownership and extreme accuracy.
Pricing for the sensor starts at $449 (GSA pricing) but increasing discounts are applied with quantities over 5. The sensor is available through the HIF, through GSA and direct from FTS.

Two new service bulletins that affect owners of Axiom H1 dataloggers (Water Survey of Canada customers only) and TM-Ultra telephone modems have been posted in the Technical Support Resources section.

FTS launches new technical support resources
5/16/11
Another major customer service initiative, we have added a new section Technical Support Resources to our Support page, containing a collection of helpful new resources. Briefly:
- Online documentation: User manuals and application notes for FTS products.
- Software updates: An easy way to obtain the latest firmware updates for Axiom dataloggers or new versions of StreamTrac."
- Video tutorials: Easy-to follow step-by-step instruction for setting up, configuring and working with FTS products.
We are also working on a user forum (an electronic community for FTS customers to discuss FTS and FTS products). it's not available yet, but we will announce its availability when it's ready.
Access to these new resources is reserved for existing customers only, and we will be providing you with a username and password required to access the site shortly. Prospective customers can be provided limited access by request.

As part of our continuing commitment to customer service, we have been exploring ways to stay close to our customer base. As a result, we have added a blog to this site, which will become the main method for communicating news, articles and interesting tidbits of information that may be interesting to our customers. We'll post anything that is directly related to our products, our company or the industry which we service—of course with a focus on water quality and monitoring turbidity, and will even post articles that we come across that are indirectly related but that we found interesting nonetheless.
Major news items will still appear here on this page as well as on the blog.

FTS wins multi-year contract to supply Axiom dataloggers to Environment Canada
5/12/11
FTS is pleased to announce that they have been selected to be the primary supplier of EDAS (Environmental Data Acquisition System) equipment—known as dataloggers or DCPs in the US. The contract with The Water Survey of Canada—a division of Environment Canada (Canadian Federal government) was awarded earlier this month and names FTS as the primary supplier for all three categories of EDAS equipment for which bids from several major manufacturers were solicited. The Axiom product was selected because it met all criteria which were specified in the bid.
"We welcome this chance to work closely with the Canadian government" states Tom Vandall, Hydrology Sales Manager for FTS. "The Water Survey of Canada values reliability and accuracy, and we're certain each Axiom shipped over the next few years will live up to the expectations of extreme ruggedness and simple operation which were demonstrated during their rigorous evaluation."
"This contract win is a significant milestone for FTS' Hydrology division" adds CEO David Illing. "Our efforts to focus on the most environmentally hardened equipment available, and to really listen to our customers when it comes to product design are paying off."
FTS is now in the process of augmenting our already renowned lifetime telephone support with a full suite of web-based self-help support resources to insure that every one of our new customers obtains the highest level of support quicker and at any time of day or night.
